Bali Visa Guide 2025: How to Get a Visa and What Options You Have

Planning a trip to Bali? Whether you’re coming for a short vacation or a longer stay, it’s important to understand your visa options before arriving. Here’s a complete guide to getting a visa for Bali in 2025.

1. Visa on Arrival (VOA)

Who can get it: Citizens of over 90 countries including USA, UK, EU, Australia, Japan, and many others.

Where to get it:

– At Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) upon arrival

– Or online before travel via the Molina Immigration Portal: https://molina.imigrasi.go.id

Cost: IDR 500,000 (~$35 USD)

Validity: 30 days (extendable once for another 30 days)

Use this visa if: You’re planning a holiday or short stay up to 2 months.

2. B211A Visit Visa (Tourism or Business)

How to apply: Online through a local visa agent or via https://visa.imigrasi.go.id

Cost: $150–300 depending on agent

Validity: 60 days, extendable twice (up to 180 days total)

Use this visa if: You’re staying longer than 2 months or want fewer immigration visits.

3. Bali Digital Nomad Visa (Coming Soon)

Status: Announced by the Indonesian government, expected to launch soon.

Goal: To allow remote workers to stay tax-free for up to 5 years, as long as they earn income from abroad.

Tip: For now, digital nomads still use the B211A visa or VOA + extension.

4. Free Entry (Visa Exemption)

Available to: ASEAN countries only (e.g., Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand)

Validity: 30 days, non-extendable

Use this if: You’re from an ASEAN country and only staying a short time.

Visa Extension Tips

– Start extension at least 7 days before your current visa expires

– VOA can be extended once at an immigration office or through a visa agent

– B211A extensions require a sponsor and are easier via agent
