From Bali’s Night Arrival to Gili’s Sunlit Shores — Sangeun & Ayoung’s Island Journey
The night of July 4th brought Sangeun Bae and Ayoung Jang to Bali, stepping off flight SQ0944 at the international airport into the warm tropical air. At 8:00 PM, their private driver was there, waiting with a sign and a smile. From the airport, the road led them through Bali’s softly lit streets toward Padang Bai, where a cozy hotel awaited them for the night — a short rest before their adventure truly began.
The morning of July 5th was fresh and bright. After an early wake-up, they made their way to the harbour, where the Wahana Fast Boat gleamed in the sun, ready for its 9:00 AM departure. The pier buzzed with life — travellers swapping stories, fishermen returning with their morning catch, and the scent of sea salt carried by a gentle breeze.
Once aboard, the crossing over the Lombok Strait unfolded in a palette of blues — from deep navy in the distance to bright turquoise near the shallows. The hum of the engines blended with the rhythmic splash of waves, and the horizon seemed endless.
By late morning, Gili Trawangan appeared like a dream: powdery white beaches, swaying coconut palms, and an unhurried rhythm that promised complete escape. For six days, they would embrace the island’s charms — exploring coral gardens, dining under starlit skies, and cycling along sandy lanes with the sea always in sight.
On July 11th at 10:30 AM, the Wahana Fast Boat would carry them back to Bali. Waiting at the harbour, a private car would take them to their next stop — a hotel in Kuta, where lively streets, sunset beaches, and vibrant nightlife would close their journey on a high note.
From the warm welcome at the airport to the final sunset in Kuta, their trip was a seamless blend of comfort, adventure, and the simple joy of the sea.
