A lot of travellers blindly go for the biggest island, Gili Trawangan, without realizing that it can be pretty crowded and party-centric. If that’s not your scene, you might want to check out Gili Air instead. Gili Air has a more laid-back vibe and a good balance of chill vibes, bar scenes and things to do.
On the other hand, Gili Meno is perfect if you want to disconnect from the outside world and relax in a tranquil setting. Of course, it all comes down to personal preference.
Regardless of what island you choose, we highly recommend going on an island hopping trip to dive or snorkel around the best coral reefs of the three islands. Just don’t forget to put on sunscreen as the sun can make you sunburned easily, even when she’s hiding behind the clouds!
